We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support a busy ambulatory care clinic in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with strong triage and medical-surgical experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced outpatient setting while providing exceptional patient care.
Location: Houston, TX 77019
Assignment Length: Minimum 3-6 month temp/contract role – possible extension or temp-hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $47.37/hr.
Key Responsibilities
Perform telephone and in-person nursing triage, assessing patient symptoms and determining the appropriate level of care.
Respond to patient phone calls and provide clinical guidance following established protocols.
Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and organizational policies.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Monitor patient status and escalate concerns when appropriate.
Maintain compliance with clinical policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience in Ambulatory Care.
Previous Telephone Triage experience.
Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous outpatient or ambulatory clinic experience.
Experience managing high patient call volumes in a clinical setting.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
