Job description

Job Title: MIG Welder - 2nd Shift


FLSA/Status: Temp to Hire

Salary range: $21+ per hour

Shift: Monday to Friday: 2nd Shift: 4pm - 12:30pm

Benefits: Full benefits package applies after being hired by client including production bonus opportunities


Critical Job Functions

  • Operates and completes set-ups on welding machinery. Troubleshoots and adjusts the equipment as necessary.
  • Mig welding of sheet metal, carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Material thickness 12g to 20g.
  • Follow safety procedures at all times.
  • Follow the job schedule provided by the Plant Manager and Foreman.
  • Assist fabricators with layout and fabrication of jobs.
  • Some assembly of products and skids may be required.
  • Responsible for reporting concerns, issues, and material shortages in a timely fashion.

Other Job Duties

  • Assist fabricators in the correct set-up and operation of equipment.
  • Safely operate powered pallet jacks (training and certification provided).
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Foreman.

Skills Required

  • 1-3 years of MIG Welding experience in the metal fabricating industry.
  • Previous experience with Brake Press and Shears preferred
  • Knowledge of safety and operation issues related to the metal fabricating industry.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints.
  • Knowledge/ability to do basic shop math.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
