Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Refrigeration Pipefitter Foreman you will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Selecting type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications, knowledge of system operation, and study of building plans / working drawings
- Planning sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and cutting pipe
- Threading and ending pipe by hand or with pipe bending machine
- Assembling and joining piping by means of threaded, chalked, wiped, brazed fused, or cemented joints
- Securing pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools
- Testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges
- Proficient at reading and understanding submittals
- Order materials based on approved submittals
- Layout daily task and materials to keep crews efficient
- Manage other pipefitters on the job site
- Preform all work in a safe manner in accordance with all company and job site safety standards
REQUIREMENTS:
- OSHA 10
- EPA
- 5 or more years of experience in refrigeration pipefitting of which at least 3 having been in a foreman or lead role
- Strong communication skills
- Proven leadership ability
- Must have experience installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining and repairing mechanical piping systems
