Job description

Join AWS Infrastructure Services to shape the future of global cloud networking by leading strategic capacity planning initiatives that keep the world's most comprehensive cloud platform running seamlessly. You'll drive forecasting and procurement strategies for network hardware across thousands of variables, directly influencing how AWS scales to meet customer demand while optimizing costs and performance.
Key job responsibilities
- **Develop and maintain network capacity forecasts** that inform procurement planning and guide infrastructure investment decisions across AWS global operations
- **Collaborate with cross-functional teams**-including software, networking, finance, and supply chain-to translate capacity requirements into executable procurement strategies
- **Identify process improvements and automation opportunities** that enhance forecasting accuracy, reduce planning cycles, and enable faster scaling
- **Lead strategic initiatives** that balance efficiency, performance, and reliability while optimizing costs for network infrastructure investments
- **Partner with senior leaders** across multiple organizations to align capacity planning with business growth objectives and drive alignment on resource allocation
A day in the life
In this role, you'll focus on network capacity forecasting-the critical function that ensures AWS has the right hardware, at the right time, to support our customers' growing needs. You'll partner with software teams building automation tools, collaborate with applied scientists on predictive modeling, and work alongside networking, finance, and supply chain specialists to translate complex capacity requirements into actionable procurement plans.
Your days will involve analyzing network demand patterns, identifying bottlenecks in our planning processes, and designing scalable solutions that balance short-term execution with long-term strategic vision

You'll present findings and recommendations to senior leaders across multiple organizations, building consensus around capacity investments that enable service growth without constraints. Beyond routine planning activities, you'll champion process improvements and mentor cross-functional teams on capacity thinking, helping shape how we approach infrastructure scaling.
About the team
We are the team that keeps AWS's network running at global scale. Our mission is to ensure network capacity never limits customer innovation

We work at the intersection of software engineering, supply chain management, and infrastructure operations-solving problems that impact millions of customers worldwide.
Our team brings together diverse perspectives: software engineers, supply chain specialists, network engineers, and finance partners. We're committed to an inclusive environment where bold ideas are welcomed and ownership is celebrated. You'll grow through mentorship, learn from experts across AWS, and develop rare infrastructure planning expertise.
