Job description

Job Title: Final Inspector

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Final Inspector to join our team. This is a day shift position (7:30am-4pm) with overtime available. Pay will be based on experience. The successful candidate will perform visual inspections of PCB bare boards after completion of all processes, following standard operating procedures and guidance from the Team Leader. This role involves stamping the Group A Lot Acceptance Inspection Sheet, Traveler, or rework instructions after visual inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze customer drawings, SOPs, work instructions, and requirements in the traveler packet to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform visual inspections of printed circuit boards and cable assemblies under IPC J standards and/or customer specifications using magnification equipment and complete an inspection checklist.
  • Scan jobs into PROCIM.
  • Verify calibration date for any measurement device used for inspection.
  • Verify assembly traveler quantity count and notify team lead of any issues.
  • Perform a first article inspection (FAI) on all first-time build assemblies to verify compliance with applicable IPC/Military and customer specifications; generate AS9102 report.
  • Identify and document product defects; generate NCR form and notify team lead.
  • Generate and complete a Certificate of Compliance (C of C).
  • Perform all other job duties as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Ideally 2 years of assembly inspection experience in PCB or electronics manufacturing and assembly industry.
  • Certified or previously certified J-STD, NASA-STD, and/or IPC-610.
  • Proficiency in using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to interpret customer drawings, requirements, SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing travelers.
  • Knowledge of Military, IPC J standards.
  • Proficiency with standard assembly equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Knowledge of first article documentation and shipping standards.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • 20/20 correctable near vision in one eye.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tustin, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
