Job description

The multimedia content creator is a full-time, exempt position that works with all administrative staff and faculty departments. The position directly reports to the digital media producer and is a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC). OMC oversees the college's marketing and communication strategies and is responsible for all aspects of creative services and photography; digital messaging (web, video and social media); features and publications; internal, external and crisis communications; project management; marketing and special projects.
Hours of work performance are approximately 40 hours/week. Depending on activities and special events, evening and weekend hours will often be required; otherwise, the normal work schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The multimedia content creator is responsible for supporting college marketing initiatives through turn-key digital - video/audio, photography and social media - storytelling. The multimedia content creator will be expected to:

  • Develop high-quality digital content for the college's website and social media platforms that aligns with the college's mission, core values, brand and marketing objectives.

  • Develop and execute creative concepts for video content, including storyboarding, scripting, filming and editing.

  • Maintain, organize and support of the college's YouTube channel.

  • Support live stream services for major campus events.

  • Understand Wofford's brand and translate that brand to engage audiences.

  • Support outside video projects and work with preferred vendors.

  • Collaborate with Team OMC to serve the college's marketing objectives.

  • Participate in and serve on assigned, elected or appointed committees or service roles across the Wofford community.

  • Perform other duties or related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An associate's degree or technical training in video production and minimally one year of experience in digital marketing.

The multimedia content creator will be comfortable creating, editing and posting digital content (video, audio, photography, social media posts). Punctual attendance, expectations to learn quickly and thrive in a collaborative setting, along with the flexibility to adapt and provide other assistance to Team OMC and Wofford College as necessary, will be important for success in this role.

Preference will be given to candidates with additional expertise in social media strategy, marketing and photography. Experience with podcasts is also preferred.
