Job description

Institutional Research Assistant Analyst (Part-Time, Temporary) Priority Application Deadline: August 10, 2026. The position will remain open until filled. Anticipated Start Date: August 17, 2026 Position Summary This is an entry-level position designed to provide support for institutional research activities, including survey administration, qualitative and quantitative data collection, basic data analysis, reporting, and assessment activities under the direction of Institutional Research staff. The position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and campus committees to support the effective use of information in institutional planning, evaluation, and data-informed decision-making. This position is temporary for one year and is contingent upon the availability of grant funding. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all listed duties and may perform related duties as assigned. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion to ensure the success of groups historically underrepresented and underserved in higher education. Assists with the development, administration, and coordination of surveys, focus groups, interviews, and other quantitative and qualitative data collection activities; compiles, summarizes, and documents findings. Supports institutional research, planning, assessment, accreditation, grant, and student success initiatives by collecting, organizing, validating, and maintaining institutional data. Assists with basic data analysis and the preparation of reports, data visualizations, presentations, and other informational materials to support institutional planning, accreditation, grant reporting, and evidence-based decision-making. Assists with research projects and the maintenance of research documentation and project records while ensuring data accuracy and compliance with FERPA, data governance standards, applicable laws, regulations, and District policies. Collaborates with campus departments to gather information, respond to data requests, and provide administrative and project support for Institutional Research activities; maintains the confidentiality and security of student and institutional data and participates in professional development related to institutional research, assessment, accreditation, and equity-minded practices. Performs other related duties as requested or assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution in research methods, social science, education, business administration, statistics, information systems, or a related field. Coursework, internship, work, or project experience involving data collection, data organization, data mining, research, or basic data analysis. Knowledge of: Basic principles and practices of institutional research, assessment, research methods, and data collection. Survey development, administration, and evaluation methods. Basic methods for organizing, summarizing, analyzing, and presenting data and information. Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Professional communication practices, including correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Principles of confidentiality, FERPA, and responsible handling of student and institutional data. COMPENSATION: The salary for this position is 23.87 per hour.
