How much do temporary metallurgy jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 11, 2026, the average yearly pay for temporary metallurgy in the United States is $94,030.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $77,500.00 and $108,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Will metallurgy be replaced by AI?

Metallurgy as a field involves complex analysis, material testing, and hands-on work that currently cannot be fully replaced by AI. While AI tools can assist with data analysis, process optimization, and predictive modeling, human expertise remains essential for decision-making, quality control, and practical applications in metallurgy jobs. Continuous learning of new technologies and certifications can help metallurgists stay relevant as AI integration increases.

Is metallurgy in high demand?

Metallurgy jobs are generally in steady demand due to the ongoing need for materials analysis, quality control, and metal processing in industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, and construction. Skilled metallurgists with knowledge of materials testing, certifications, and specialized tools are often sought after, especially in regions with active industrial sectors.

What jobs can you get with a metallurgy degree?

A metallurgy degree can lead to jobs such as metallurgist, materials engineer, quality control analyst, or research scientist in industries like manufacturing, aerospace, and automotive. These roles often require knowledge of materials properties, testing methods, and sometimes certifications or advanced technical skills. Employment may involve laboratory work, field testing, or process optimization in a manufacturing environment.

How much does metallurgy pay?

Metallurgy jobs typically pay between $50,000 and $90,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and location. Entry-level positions may start lower, while specialized roles or those requiring certifications can offer higher salaries. Skills in materials analysis, laboratory work, and familiarity with metallurgical tools are often valued in this field.

What is the difference between Temporary Metallurgy vs Temporary Metallurgy?

AspectTemporary Metallurgy

Since the question compares the same job title, there is no difference between Temporary Metallurgy and Temporary Metallurgy. Both refer to short-term or contract roles in metallurgy, involving tasks like metal analysis, quality control, and processing in industrial settings. These roles typically require certifications in metallurgy or materials science, and are used across manufacturing, construction, and engineering industries. Temporary Metallurgy positions are often sought by employers needing specialized skills for specific projects or seasonal work, providing flexibility for both workers and companies.
