Grinding Machine Operator – 2nd Shift (Temp-to-Hire)
Torrington, CT | $18.50/hr–$19.00/hr

A.R. Mazzotta has partnered with a global manufacturing leader in the Torrington area to hire Grinding Machine Operators for a second-shift, temp-to-hire opportunity. These roles require reliability, a strong safety focus, and prior experience operating grinding or similar machinery.

Training will begin on 1st shift before transitioning to the permanent 2nd shift schedule.

Schedule
  • Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
  • Overtime required as needed.
Compensation
  • $18.50- $19.00/hr depending on experience
Position Overview
As a Grinding Machine Operator / CNC Grinding Machinist, you will play a critical role in producing high-precision components. You will set up and operate various grinding machines—including mechanical, CNC, and automated equipment—and may run multiple machines at once depending on cycle times. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Prior grinding or machine operating experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting ability
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
