Full-Time; Entry Level Position

We design lighting fixtures, create electronics plus software to run them, and build them on-site at our factory here in Morris, CT! We are growing and need immediate temporary, with opportunity for direct to hire, workers in our Assembly Department to meet the increased demand for our products. If you would like to gain manufacturing assembly experience with the possibility of permanent full-time employment, this position is for you. Job Description:

Basic assembly of a few parts following verbal and/or written procedures. This position works in a production line within a team. Each position on the production line assembles a few pieces of the product and passes it along to the next person for additional adds of parts. Ideal candidate will start learning one position within a specific product line and will continue to learn other positions on multiple product lines within the Assembly Department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic assembly skills preferred along with a willingness to learn.
  • Capable of operating handheld tools and other equipment on a daily basis.
  • Able to utilize basic mechanical and electrical tools including but not limited to air-operated hand-held fastener torquing tools, special assembly fixtures, leak-test equipment and quality checking tools.
  • Ability to maintain a steady and acceptable assembly pace.
  • Capable of communicating, reading and understanding basic instructions using English language.
  • Must be able to work with smaller components; good eyesight and hand coordination.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask with a commitment to quality.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient completion of the assembly process in a high quality and repeatable manner.
  • Assembly of basic parts following verbal and/or written procedures, placing parts in specific relationship to each other.
  • Tend to machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
  • Maintain a safe work area.
  • Wear required PPE to maintain safety and adhere to all safety processes and procedures.
