Job Description

Lift Truck (Forklift) Operator

The Lift Truck Operator (LTO) is responsible for safely performing tasks related to shipping, receiving and inventory management as directed by the Shipping Supervisor, the Receiving Supervisor and/or the Warehouse Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain lift truck (forklift) certification in accordance with company, industry and regulatory standards.
  • Pull orders and load trucks with 100% accuracy. Provide documentation to Logistics Coordinator for final order processing. Prepare shipping documents for each shipment as applicable.
  • Stage raw materials, blanks and finished goods according to warehouse layout plan.
  • Ensure that finished goods in assigned locations are cycle counted as requested with a minimum of 98% accuracy. Report discrepancies to the Inventory Coordinator.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety guidelines and food safety practices. Report unsafe situations and/or incidents immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.
  • Complete monthly computer-based safety and compliance training in accordance with requirements from Novolex Corporate.
  • Other tasks as assigned or as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Two years of work experience driving a forklift is required
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a handheld scanner, are required

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • This position requires extensive standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Work takes place in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with seasonal heat and cold as well as sound related to machine operation and maintenance and facility repair activities.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the task.

Schedule depends on production needs but typically runs Mon-Fri (some weekend availability may be required)
