Job description

Aquatic Program Safety Enforcer

Under direct supervision, has responsibility to enforce the safety standards, rules and regulations of the City's aquatic programs; and performs related work as required.

Report to Pool Manager and Recreation Supervisor

Examples of important and essential duties (The following is used as a partial description and is not restrictive as to duties required):

  • Enforces safety standards, rules and regulations of the City's aquatic programs.
  • Supervises recreation swimming.
  • Administers first aid and water safety techniques when required.
  • Completes records and reports as necessary.

Typical physical requirements

  • Frequently stand and walk; sit for extended periods; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment.

Typical working conditions

  • Work is performed in swimming facility environment; frequent contact with other City staff and the public.

Desirable qualifications

  • Knowledge of public swim programs and operations.
