Temporary Fleet Maintenance TechnicianDepartment: Auto Maintenance
Reports To: Automotive Technician
Employment Type: Temporary
Position Status: Temporary – Full-Time/Part-Time, as needed
Position Summary
SERVPRO Team Wilson is seeking a Temporary Fleet Maintenance Technician to support our Fleet Department. This position will work under the direction and supervision of the Automotive Technician and will be responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and general service tasks on company vehicles.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is a temporary position designed to provide additional support to the department and help ensure company vehicles remain safe, reliable, and properly maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on company fleet vehicles under the direction of the Automotive Technician.
  • Complete oil changes and replace oil and air filters as needed.
  • Perform tire rotations and assist with tire inspections and tire-related maintenance.
  • Check and maintain fluid levels, including oil, coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
  • Inspect vehicles for basic maintenance needs and report any issues or concerns to the Automotive Technician.
  • Assist with brake inspections and other general maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Replace windshield wipers, light bulbs, batteries, and other basic vehicle components as needed.
  • Assist with vehicle inspections and routine service checks.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks within the scope of training and experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and services.
  • Keep the maintenance area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies when working on or around vehicles.
  • Properly use and care for tools, equipment, and company property.
  • Assist the Automotive Technician with larger repairs and maintenance projects as directed.
  • Communicate any vehicle safety concerns, maintenance issues, or repair needs promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience performing basic automotive maintenance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Ability to safely use common automotive tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under the direction of the Automotive Technician.
  • Ability to work independently when assigned routine tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required to perform job duties.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry automotive parts, tools, equipment, and other materials.
  • Ability to work in a garage, shop, and outdoor environment.
  • Ability to safely perform tasks involving vehicles and automotive equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Temporary Position
This position is temporary in nature and is being created to provide additional support to the Auto Maintenance Department and assist with the current fleet maintenance. The expected duration of employment will be based on departmental needs, workload, and completion of the maintenance backlog. This position does not guarantee continued employment beyond the temporary assignment.
