For a temporary magazine layout designer, red flags include a lack of a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant design skills, poor communication or inability to meet deadlines, and limited experience with industry-standard tools like Adobe InDesign or Photoshop. Magazine layout designers typically earn between $40,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and the complexity of the publication. Freelance designers may charge hourly rates ranging from $25 to $75 or more, based on their skill level and project scope.

Is AI replacing graphic designers?
