Job Description:
Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

This is a FULL TIME/TEMPORARY position requiring availability between the hours of 9am-6pm, Monday through Thursday & Friday 8am-5pm (excluding holidays), located in Hampton, VA 23668. This position will approximately be through end of August 2026, beginning of September 2026.

Responsibilities :
A Day in the Life of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) :

As a Licensed Practical Nurse , you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care while abiding by all HIPAA laws and regulations in an outpatient clinic setting. The LPN will provide in-person and telehealth medical care - must be willing to work collaboratively and successfully with the health team to provide comprehensive and age-appropriate care to well and ill patients. Your role is instrumental in the assessment process for the clinic visit which includes obtaining vitals, reconciliation of medication, rooming patients, documentation in patient charts (EHR), scheduling consultations or referral appointments with other health care providers, dispensing medications as ordered by the provider, assisting the provider during the patient's visit, educates, instructs and counsels patients on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourages and promotes preventative health care and positive health behaviors as instructed by the provider. This position is in Hampton, VA!

Duties for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) :

· Customer Service Skills: Receives all patients and visitors pleasantly and efficiently, serving as the first point of contact.
· Provides outpatient primary care services for episodic illnesses, health maintenance and wellness screenings.
· Follows appropriate care/treatment plans as ordered by the provider.
· Consistently develops effective care/treatment plan for assigned patients according to established protocols and procedures.
· Documents patient’s medical information and maintains electronic medical records.
· Schedules consultation or referral appointments with other health care providers.
· Dispenses medications as ordered by the provider.
· Provides information to provider regarding patient’s care plan and condition.
· Regularly confers and consults with appropriate supervisor as indicated.
· Educates, instructs, and counsels patients on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourages and promotes preventative health care and positive health behaviors as instructed by the provider.
· Must be willing to cross-train in tasks as indicated.
· Must be on stand-by for doctors and nurse practitioners.
· Must be willing to care for patients that test positive for COVID.
· Other duties assigned as needed.


Requirements for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) :
  • Will consider a new grad LPN
  • Required: Valid Virginia LPN License or valid multi-state LPN licensure
  • Required: Must have practical nursing degree from an accredited nursing schools
  • Required: BLS/CPR
  • Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
  • Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
  • Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Required: Must be compassionate and personable.
  • Required: Must possess skills, self-confidence, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Required: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Required: Must have data entry skills
  • Required: exceptional active listening skills
