Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide intensive counseling and psychotherapy services tailored to each client’s unique needs.
• Administer complete mental status examinations, identifying and recognizing changes in the mental health status of clients.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including case notes, progress reports, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and ethical standards.
• Utilize a calm and empathetic approach when managing difficult situations, aimed at de-escalating emotional distress while providing realistic solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Facilitate therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings, adapting methodologies to fit the diverse needs of clients.
• Share knowledge and strategies with colleagues, contributing to a culture of teamwork and enhanced quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clinical expertise will impact a varied patient population, including individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, and other emotional difficulties. By addressing these challenges, you will contribute to improved patient outcomes and foster resilience in the community. In particular, you will engage with clients within a hospice center setting, providing end-of-life counseling and support to both clients and their families, emphasizing compassion, understanding, and dignity during a crucial stage of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a valid Virginia LCSW license allowing for independent practice.
• High emotional intelligence, demonstrating empathy and capability in building rapport with clients struggling with mental health issues.
• Experience in providing therapy and support for individuals, couples, and families dealing with complex emotional situations.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a penchant for maintaining clear, structured documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of direct clinical experience in a social work capacity, preferably in mental health settings.
• Background in providing therapy within a hospice or palliative care context would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, enhancing documentation and communication processes.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with an extensive benefits package that includes:
