Your New Role...
The Scenic Technician (Temporary) is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the scenic department, ensuring the smooth operation of studio sets, properties, and environments.
Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Studio Installation and Maintenance: Assist in the installation, maintenance, and breakdown of studio sets, ensuring they meet production requirements and are in optimal condition.
  • Scenic Property Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of scenic properties, including props, furniture, and decorations, to ensure their longevity and suitability for productions.
  • On-Air Scenic Changes: Execute timely and efficient changes to scenic elements during live broadcasts, ensuring seamless transitions and maintaining visual appeal.
  • Scenic Support for Live Programming: Provide technical support and assistance to scenic elements during live productions, ensuring their proper functioning and integration with other production elements.
  • Warehouse Responsibilities: Manage the scenic department's inventory, including storage, organization, and retrieval of scenic elements. Requires forklift certification.
  • Special Events: Contribute to the successful execution of special live events by providing scenic support and coordination of scenic elements in a live production environment.

Your Qualifications & Experience...
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in scenic construction with a strong understanding of industry-standard techniques.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in scenic construction methods, with basic electrical knowledge, incorporating LED lighting for scenery and basic rigging skills. Welding experience would be highly regarded.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Problem Solving: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Physical Requirements:
  • Hands-On Role: This is an active, physically demanding position.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and transport heavy objects safely.
  • Stamina: Able to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work in diverse environments, including studios, warehouses, and outdoor locations.
