Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator (LCAT: ITS3 – OK GOV Site) Job Overview:

The Enterprise Operational Support Environment (E-OSE) is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This individual will be responsible for managing and optimizing the E-OSE infrastructure, with a focus on Cisco networking, Linux environments, virtualization, and Windows administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for implementing cutting‑edge technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Administration:
    • Manage and optimize Cisco networking devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
    • Implement and troubleshoot routing, switching, and VPN configurations.
    • Monitor network performance, analyze issues, and provide proactive solutions.
    • Collaborate with other teams to ensure network security and performance.
  • Administer and maintain Linux-based servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc.).
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Linux system issues, including performance and security‑related incidents.
  • Scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python) for system management.
  • Virtualization and Cloud:
    • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper‑V.
    • Perform provisioning, monitoring, and management of virtual machines and containers.
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery for virtualized systems.
  • Windows Server Administration:
    • Administer Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) for both physical and virtualized platforms.
    • Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, and DNS/DHCP services.
    • Troubleshoot Windows OS issues and optimize system performance.
  • Security:
    • Implement and enforce security best practices across networking, server, and system environments.
    • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and provide remediation plans.
    • Collaborate with the security team to maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of systems configurations, network topologies, and procedures.
    • Prepare and deliver reports on system performance, project status, and incidents.
Required Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, and security configurations.
    • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
    • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and Hyper‑V).
    • Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
    • Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Windows Server environments.
    • Familiarity with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
