Essential Job Functions
Pasco County Public Transportation (GoPasco) is currently seeking volunteers to join our outreach team to assist in expanding transit awareness in Pasco County. This position assists the Program Manager with offsite community events such as fairs, festivals, libraries, schools, and local businesses. This position will also assist with customer surveys and bus buddy outreach to educate the community about transit options. Requires pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 80lbs.
Below is not an all-encompassing list but provides general overview of tasks that may be asked of this role.
Outreach:
  • Prep Work: Loading needed supplies such as tents, tables, chairs, printed materials, and promotional items. Setting up the tent, table, chairs, printed materials, and promotional items at the event.
  • Communication/Customer Service: Representing GoPasco in a professional manner and helping to respond to any questions, concerns, and/or feedback from the public while attending an event. Accurately representing GoPasco when explaining programs/services offered by GoPasco.
  • Post Event Work: Taking down the tent and table, loading the tent, table, chairs, printed materials, and promotional items back into the transport vehicle.
Survey:
  • Hop on a bus for a day of fun, team building, and interaction with GoPasco riders.
  • The GoPasco rider survey was created to help identify areas of need as well as concerns that impact public transportation in Pasco County.
  • Surveyors must be available for one week in August.
  • One hour training is provided along with materials and safety vest to wear on the buses.
Bus Buddy:
  • Ride the bus with new passengers to help them understand and use the GoPasco bus routes.
  • Bus Buddies help passengers read bus schedules, plan trips, and locate bus stops.

Minimum Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Position requires pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 80lbs. Position requires basic customer service skills and adherence to GoPasco Safety Protocols at all times. Volunteer must be at least 16 years old.
Hours/Time: This is a flexible schedule and volunteers will be assigned as needed for up to five (5) hours during GoPasco operations hours Monday-Saturday.
Dress Code: Business casual for presentations. GoPasco T-shirt (provided by GoPasco), closed toed shoes, and jeans or shorts (no holes) appropriate for events, survey and bus buddy program.
Miscellaneous Information: Additional release forms and background check authorizations may be required prior to the first day of volunteer activities. GoPasco is located at 8620 Galen Wilson Blvd, Port Richey FL, 34668.
