Job description

Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role is n a warehouse, where you will handle a variety of material handling tasks including picking, packing, put-aways, shipping, receiving, and inventory control. You will operate Raymond reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and cherry pickers to move and organize products, some of which can weigh up to 80 pounds, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily picking and packing of products according to work orders and shipping requirements.
  • Complete put-aways by safely transporting products to designated storage locations using Raymond reach, sit-down forklift, and cherry picker equipment.
  • Handle shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading trucks, verifying quantities, and checking product condition.
  • Support inventory control activities by accurately counting, labeling, and recording stock levels.
  • Operate Raymond reach forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and cherry pickers in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Lift, move, and stack products that can weigh up to approximately 80 pounds, using proper lifting techniques and safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area within the warehouse.
  • Work collaboratively with a small team to meet daily productivity and accuracy targets.
  • Follow all warehouse policies, safety regulations, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or inventory discrepancies to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1+ years of experience operating Raymond reach forklifts.
  • At least 1+ years of experience operating cherry picker equipment.
  • At least 1+ years of experience operating sit-down forklifts.
  • Valid AB forklift certification.
  • Proven heavy lifting experience, comfortably lifting up to approximately 60 pounds and handling products up to 80 pounds.
  • Strong material handling skills, including loading, unloading, and general labor in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to perform accurate picking and packing while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Capability to work safely with warehouse equipment and follow established safety procedures.
  • Reliable work ethic with the ability to work Monday to Friday on a consistent schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating cherry picker equipment beyond the minimum requirement is considered an asset.
  • Fall arrest certification is a strong asset.
  • Previous experience in a flooring, tile, or similar warehouse environment is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a small, close-knit team setting.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse, sales, and office staff.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse with a team of about four people in the warehouse and approximately 30–40 people on site including sales and office staff. You will work on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The environment involves regular use of Raymond reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and cherry pickers, as well as manual material handling and heavy lifting. The culture is growing and collaborative, with close interaction between warehouse and office staff. Dress code is typical for a warehouse setting, focusing on safety and practicality, including appropriate footwear and attire suitable for material handling work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
