Overview

Next 150 Construction, LLC is a fully owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company focused on delivering comprehensive site services including self-perform labor and carpentry, equipment and operators and temporary facilities services for major construction projects across the Unites States.

Next 150 Construction is seeking an experienced self-perform Estimator that will work closely with the Next 150 Operations and Preconstruction team to develop comprehensive take-offs to support project estimates and formal proposals. The position will support efforts in all our current geographic markets with an emphasis on the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest. Travel will be limited but necessary from time to time as project needs demand. The physical location of the position is flexible due to the numerous geographies this role will serve. A background in self-perform estimating of Concrete, Masonry, Carpentry, Metal Framing & Drywall, Acoustical Ceilings and Specialties would be beneficial as well as knowledge of temporary services including fencing, fall protection measures, buck-hoists, scaffolding and other temporary equipment.

Responsibilities

As a Next 150 Estimator you will:

  • Review project specifications, drawings and site logistics plans
  • Complete accurate on-screen take-offs for permanent and temporary scopes of work
  • Interact with a variety of vendors for material and services quotes
  • Support Project Operations teams with Change Management
  • Analyze project results and develop strategies for future estimating improvement
  • Build a historical cost database based on Project Types and geography
  • Develop and track Project Estimates from Conceptual Phase through Construction Documentsย ย 
  • Produce Clarifications and Qualifications to support estimates and proposals
  • Produce professional take-off documentation to support project deliverables
  • Identify indirect costs and General Condition items within estimateย 
  • Possess and apply knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor componentย 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Produce manpower estimates to coincide with material and equipment take-offs
  • Establish estimating protocols to drive accuracy, consistency and efficiency
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONย 

  • BSย orย MS degree in Engineering or Construction Managementย 
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experienceย ย 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experienceย 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESย 

  • Site work software tools for take-offsย 
  • Self perform estimating background is required (experience with take offs and estimates for concrete work including foundations, flat work, slab on metal deck, structural concrete)
  • Basic understanding of conceptual estimatingย 
  • Knowledge of Procore softwareย 
  • Strong written and verbal skillsย 
  • Ability to work in a team based environmentย 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programsย 
  • Understanding of Contract Document & Specificationsย 

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.ย ย ย ย This ranges from $80,000.00-$120,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
