Description

Traveling laborers are workers who move from location to location to perform manual labor on temporary assignments during Power Plants off season, August - November. They provide flexible workforce solutions for projects that require additional hands or specialized work in different geographic areas.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  •  None

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  •  Travel to out-of-state job sites as needed, including weekly overnight travel.
  •  Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery.
  •  Work as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  •  Perform general labor tasks while learning and applying new skills on the job.
  •  Work at heights ranging from approximately 4' to 100' (including work on scaffolding).
  •  Perform work in conditions that may be dirty and physically demanding; adapt to changing daily tasks.
  •  Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather/temperatures (depending on the season and location).
  •  Maintain safe work environments and follow OSHA regulations - safety is our top priority!

Education and Experience:

  •  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-5 years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus.
  •  Welders are a plus and earn more upon testing of proficiency, but we do train in welding as jobs and time allows.
  •  A valid driver's license
  •  A vehicle to travel to and from job sites
  •  Millwright Background a plus.
  •  Familiar with Power Plant work a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
