Job description

Breakwater Treatment & Wellness is New Jersey's most trusted source for medical cannabis. We grow, produce, and dispense the highest quality cannabis and cannabis products in the New Jersey Medical Marijuana Program. Our motto "A Safe Harbor" reflects our goal to protect our patients by providing them with consistent, high quality products in a welcoming environment. Our team of Packaging Technicians helps us do this by ensuring our flower and extracted products meet quality standards before making their way to our patients. They make sure all packaging components are clean and that final packages are in compliance with state regulations. Additionally, they help communicate our brand through proper and precise placement of strain specific labels.

The right person for this role will be highly detail-oriented: able to identify issues with the product, jars, tops, labels, and extracted product components (such as cartridge tops). They should be able to work at a fast and steady pace for long periods of time while maintaining quality standards along the way. They must be able to keep their work station clean and contribute to the overall maintenance and cleanliness of our packaging rooms. The person in this role should also be reliable, able to show up consistently for scheduled shifts to allow us to hit our production goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting preparatory cleaning work of packaging components: jars, tops, bottles, cartridges, etc.
  • Maintaining awareness of work schedule and self-managing to ensure you are on track with the day's tasks
  • Identifying issues with inventory and collaborating with Packaging Leads to ensure supplies are stocked and ordered
  • Conducting routine cleaning such as vacuuming, sweeping, and sanitizing surfaces daily, eliminating contaminants like cardboard/styrofoam near sensitive items, following direction of Leads to keep room organized
  • Assembling, disassembling, and cleaning packaging equipment
  • Accurately weighing and packaging premium buds with our high standards of quality in mind; labeling with Breakwater branded labels as well as state compliance labels
  • Capping, bagging, and labeling cartridges, concentrated oils, topical dropper bottles, and lozenges
  • Quality controlling various elements/products, identifying issues to Leads, and removing compromised items
  • Properly labeling and organizing unfinished products
  • Training new employees or temporary helpers on packaging processes, informing lead or manager if any processes are unclear
