Job description

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Compensation Range: $61-66/hour
Location: Rochester, MI; Onsite – School Setting
Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations for students referred by teachers, parents, and other educational staff. The SLP must demonstrate expertise in a range of areas, including assessment practices, instructional resources, and evidence-based intervention strategies to support diverse student needs. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to assess communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication skills. 
  • Interpret assessment results and develop clear, legally compliant written evaluation reports that include findings, eligibility recommendations, and educational implications. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and service delivery models to address student communication needs and support educational access. Updated June 2026 JP 
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings in accordance with IEP goals. 
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to teachers, staff, and families regarding speech, language, and communication development and strategies for support. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices, research, and methodologies in speech-language pathology and related educational services.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other school-based meetings as required. 
  • Collaborate with general education and special education staff to support student progress across academic and social environments. 
  • Participate in school committees, professional learning communities, and district initiatives to support student achievement and communication access. 
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Hours per week: 35-37.5 hours per week
  • Contract length: 3 months
Physical Requirements
  • Regular sitting, speaking, hearing, and use of hands.
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds.
Requirements
Education
    • Master’s degree from an accredited college/university
Licenses & Certifications
    • Required: Current MI SLP License
