Job Summary:
Responsible for the coordination of the Summer Youth College program. Coordinates student application processing, hiring teachers, conducting orientation, and training of program instructors. Additionally, this position will be involved in curriculum development, coordinating field trips, and searching for funding. Reserves space at target locations, secures transportation, and orders program supplies.
Position is temporary and lasts for a period of up to 6 calendar months.
Internal applicants: Current part-time and temporary employees of the College may not hold multiple positions exceeding 27.5 hours.

Base Pay: $23.51.Offer amount based on College's Salary Schedule guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the activities of one or more staff. Assists in scheduling and administrative requirements. This may include student workers, part-time and full-time employees, temporary employees, and volunteers.
  • Determines and maintains appropriate program resources, including the development of program curriculum and reviews. Monitors the effectiveness of programs implemented.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the program's goals, objectives, and evaluation procedures for the assigned campus.
  • Addresses disciplinary issues with students in the program. Escalates complex issues to the next level when necessary.
  • Acts as a College liaison for programs and services among departments and with outside agencies or community leaders.
  • Prepares required reports for various internal and external requests.
  • Qualifies, registers, and monitors students in recruitment and retention programs.
  • Completes and processes applications or forms for funded programs.
  • Designs, edits, and produces program brochures, reports, flyers, posters, or specialized publications.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree or two years of college coursework
  • Two years of related experience

Knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office Professional or a similar application

Skilled in:
  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Promoting cooperative behavior and team efforts

Ability to:
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion, utilizing company policies and principles, with the understanding of when to escalate
  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
