Overview

The IT Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department and technology across the company. The role’s primary responsibility is providing an excellent experience for our end users and maximizing our uptime. In addition, the role is responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance the performance, efficiency, and profitability of the business through technology, managing information security risk, and contributing to strategic planning with the Executive team. The IT Manager is tasked with maximizing the IT staff’s individual abilities to achieve the organization’s goals through training, leadership, and goal setting.

This position reports to our Chief Information officer. It is based out of our Redmond, WA headquarters and is a fully in-office role. Work hours for this position will be 7am – 4pm.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitability through strategic technology, partner with executives on company vision, and communicate high-impact tech initiatives to leadership.
  • Manage and mentor staff to support operational excellence and professional growth
  • Create company and departmental IT policies and operational procedures.
  • Own the cybersecurity program: identify, endpoint, security awareness training, incident response, and cyber-insurance compliance
  • Develop and maintain IT budget.
  • Manage vendor relationships, SaaS portfolio, licensing, and IT contracts
  • Establish software and hardware standards.
  • Procure standard hardware and software.
  • Provide phone, in-person and online support to end-users
  • Manage the new hire/termination lifecycle and new-hire IT onboarding.
  • Own the Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environment, including Copilot rollout and AI governance
  • Maintain patches and security on server and network equipment
  • Maintain, verify, and test backups and disaster recovery environment.
  • Deliver reliable office and job site connectivity, including temporary networks and cellular/Starlink failover.
  • Automate operations using AI, Powershell, Power Platform, and scripting/APIs.
  • Support the construction technology stack (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint Spectrum, BuildOps, Bluebeam, and others) and field devices used on Jobsites
  • Partner with Process Engineering to deliver reporting and BI (Power BI)
  • Align IT practices to a recognized framework (NIST CSF or CIS Controls); support CMMC readiness if pursuing federal work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience troubleshooting computer, network, server, and cloud technologies.
  • 10+ years’ experience with LAN/WAN, enterprise network equipment, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/Azure), Docker, SQL, Postgres, cloud telephony (Teams Phone or equivalent), TCP/IP, DNS, network security, and wireless networking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and managing an IT department.


Skills and Abilities

  • Proven leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Extensive information technology skills and knowledge of the field.
  • Strong ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems.
  • Working proficiency in PowerShell, SQL, and API/integration concepts.
