Job description

Welcome to a medical center where you're the center of attention.

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics has a current opening for a Licensed Occupational Therapist to join our team for a per diem/PRN opportunity. In this role, you will provides consultation and evaluation of acute care patients who receive a referral from their provider for OT services.You will also plan, organize, and carry out occupational therapy programming for any appropriate patient.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Upon physician referral, provide occupational therapy evaluation and treatment to appropriate hospital and outpatients.

  • Collaborate with other members of the health care team in identifying and prioritizing patient treatment needs and developing a coordinated treatment plan.

  • Implement treatment plan, monitor patient progress, and adapt approach and activities to maximize patient's progress.

  • Record patient treatment plan, interventions, and patient's response to treatment in the patient record per hospital and department protocol.

  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement process; to monitor quality, identify opportunities to improve, and develop and implement solutions.

  • Supervise OTR and COTA Level I and II students, and volunteers, as requested.

Per diem /Variable

8 hour day shifts

Requirements - 2 weekend shifts a month, holidays and weekday shifts (as needed to cover PTO, increased census) required

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy and completion of six month field work experience.

  • Licensed as OTR by the State of Washington, or meets licensure requirements and holds a temporary permit.

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years experience as an Occupational Therapist in a rehabilitation facility or general hospital is preferred. Able to demonstrate proficiency in using current methods in patient treatment. Able to evaluate patient independently and plan appropriate treatment. Able to work independently, in cooperation with others. Demonstrate professional behavior and judgment. Courteous and respectful toward co-workers and patients. Able to observe and interpret human behavior accurately. Able to establish constructive relationships with patients and modify treatment approach as needed. Able to organize and carry out responsibilities efficiently. Demonstrate interest and follow through in improving professional skills. Able to accept and respond appropriately to constructive criticism. Able to effectively instruct patients and caregivers in safety issues and home exercise programs.
