Job description

User Research International is seeking an experienced UX Researcher (5+ years) to lead benchmarking and usability research for AI/ML, cloud, and developer-facing tools. You'll independently design and run structured evaluations that measure usability, efficiency, and developer experience across complex technical workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end benchmark and usability studies (planning → protocol design → analysis → reporting).
  • Evaluate AI/ML tools, APIs, and cloud-based developer platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and ML practitioners to uncover workflow friction.
  • Synthesize technical feedback into clear, actionable product recommendations.
  • Deliver high-quality insights while managing multiple studies with minimal oversight.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of UX research experience, including independent benchmark or structured usability study ownership.
  • Strong grounding in HCI, study design, and measurement frameworks.
  • Experience researching developer tools, ML workflows, APIs, CLIs, or cloud platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in technical environments.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts, data workflows, or software engineering.
