Job description

Job Summary
Teach non-credit classes for the Kinesiology Community Programs Department. Instructors should possess expertise in the activity being taught and should have good communication skills. Teaching/instruction experience is preferred. To learn more about Kinesiology Community Programs (KCP) classes and to view our current schedule, visit our website: kines.umich.edu/KCP
Responsibilities*
  • Provide beginning and/or intermediate group lessons to adults.
  • Classes will have up to 12 adults at a time.
  • Monitor, demonstrate, and instruct students on proper techniques, tactics and strategies to improve their overall tennis game.
  • We are looking for an individual to teach their own class and/or be a substitute instructor for some of our other classes during the fall and winter terms.
  • Our tennis classes are held at the U-M Varsity Tennis Center AND Chippewa Tennis Club year round. You would need transportation to get to both of these locations. Chippewa Tennis Club is about a 15 minute drive from campus. You would be teaching 1-2 hours per week.

Desired Qualifications*
Previous experience teaching tennis and/or competitive tennis experience.
