Rental Technician-Electrician
The Rental Technician - Electrician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and preparing rental electrical equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable, and ready for customer deployment. This role supports temporary power solutions by maintaining the rental fleet to the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence while delivering exceptional customer service.
Safety & Quality
  • Follow all company safety policies, safety regulations, and safe work practices.
  • Properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and hazard identification procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment using 5S housekeeping principles.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, near misses, and incidents.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rental and sales electrical equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to established maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and perform corrective repairs using industry best practices.
  • Prepare rental equipment to meet customer project specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct operational testing and quality assurance inspections prior to equipment deployment.
  • Complete all required maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair documentation accurately and timely.
  • Identify equipment requiring major repairs and communicate findings to the Rental Foreman.
  • Assist in improving equipment reliability through continuous maintenance and process improvements.

Equipment Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Perform electrical testing using approved testing equipment and procedures.
  • Verify equipment performance and ensure compliance with company quality standards before shipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify damage, wear, or safety concerns.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning and functional testing as required.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing results, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Warehouse & Rental Operations
  • Assist with staging rental equipment for customer orders and scheduled deliveries.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and movement of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain organization of the warehouse, shop, and outdoor storage areas.
  • Ensure rental equipment is properly stored, identified, and protected from damage.
  • Support inventory activities including equipment identification, tracking, and cycle counts as needed.

Customer Support
  • Ensure rental equipment is prepared accurately and delivered on schedule to support customer project requirements.
  • Respond to emergency equipment needs and participate in after-hours support as business needs require.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Operations, Shipping & Receiving, and the Rental Foreman to meet customer expectations.
  • Represent the company professionally while maintaining a customer-first attitude.

  • Additional temporary power equipment across multiple voltage and amperage classifications

Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent industrial/commercial electrical experience.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience performing electrical testing using Megger, Hi-Pot, TTR, Power Factor, Resistance Bridge, or similar testing equipment preferred.
  • Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds regularly and assist with moving heavier equipment using appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces when required.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to after-hours customer support as business needs require.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
