Validation Engineer - CONTRACTOR
The Validation Engineer is responsible for validating products for infotainment projects, such as telematics and radio. This role involves working with cross-functional engineering teams, HQ teams, and customers to successfully launch projects. Key responsibilities include verifying and evaluating issues, logging software defects in a tracking database, reviewing test data, creating test cases based on specifications, and generating summary reports. This position also offers opportunities to interact with and learn from subject matter experts at LGEVU. The engineer must collaborate effectively, maintain a service-oriented mindset, and be a results-driven self-starter.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform validation for infotainment/telematic products by utilizing test benches and vehicles
  • Responsible for executing basic Sanity, customer found issues, updated specification from customer and full test cases
  • Analyze test results to determine if product meet specifications
  • Create/maintain test cases per product specifications
  • Utilize tracking system to report and track product defects
  • Test bench setup / SW updates
  • Field Test / Joint field test with OEM
  • OEM Support (frequent visiting, fixing damaged OEM's HU by update tools, SW status drive)
  • Audit Event Support (communication support, issue analysis/reproduction)
  • Maintain relationships with overseas counterparts to effectively share information and resolve issues
  • Support to resolve technical issues
  • Responsible for arranging test vehicle usage with the customer for internal validation activities
  • Support and communicate with R&D team, not only in North America but other regions such as Korea
  • Support and communicate with DQA team, not only in North America but other regions such as Korea
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (Domestic & International)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Test bench and vehicle setup
    • In-car infotainment systems technologies
    • Specifications and ability to analyze test results
    • Process on how to create test cases with the appropriate test case structure
    • How to interface with the bug tracking system
    • Vehicle communication protocols
  • Ability to:
    • Lift/Setup benches weighing up to 30lbs
    • Sit in/drive test vehicle for up to 3 hours at a time for testing, up to 8 hours a day
    • Learn and adapt to new software and hardware tools and technologies
    • Work across multiple disciplines (systems, embedded, server, wireless carriers, testing)
    • Recognize and mitigate both technical and organizational challenges
  • Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
