We are seeking an experienced and selfโ€driven Controls Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and commissioning automation systems across diverse applications. Ideal candidates can independently manage project tasks, adapt quickly to new technologies, and maintain strong technical accuracy. Experience with Inductive Automation's Ignition is preferred.
Planning & Project Coordination

  • Review and prioritize project scope, identifying key tasks and dependencies
  • Develop detailed work plans, sequencing, and critical path analysis
  • Contribute to estimating efforts and align planned resources accordingly
  • Build and maintain realistic schedules for engineering, FAT, installation, and startup Communicate schedule expectations with internal teams and leadership
  • Understand project milestones, success criteria, and phase deliverables

Technical Implementation

  • Design, program, test, and commission control systems using PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms
  • Collaborate with engineering teammates to ensure accurate and timely execution
  • Track progress against budget and proactively address variances
  • Coordinate procurement of hardware, software, and vendor components
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide responsive technical support throughout the project lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5+ years of handsโ€on experience delivering full lifecycle PLC/SCADA automation projects
  • Strong proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000; experience with one or more of the following is a plus: Wonderware, Siemens S7, Client iFIX, Ignition, Opto 22
  • Ability to independently drive engineering tasks from requirements through startup Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostics, and analytical thinking
  • Proven timeโ€management and project coordination ability
  • High learning aptitude and willingness to adopt new platforms and tools quickly
