Job description

Temporary position for special project.. Performs duties as directed and/or qualified for. Such duties include, but are not limited to, attending, observing, and operating assigned Radiation Protection related equipment.


Duties include but are not limited to:

1.Operates Radiation Protection equipment and instrumentation and conducts tests or checks in accordance with approved Radiation Protection procedures, or as directed.

2.Assists personnel of higher classification in the performance of their assigned tasks.

3.Follows good plant housekeeping and safety practices.

4.Observes all Radiation Protection regulations including proper use of anti-contamination clothing and equipment. Reports to supervisor any observed violation of station procedures, applicable Federal Regulations or Radiation Protection requirements.

5.Performs Radiation Protection support functions as assigned in implementing the Susquehanna SES Emergency Plan.

6.Maintains thorough knowledge of appropriate plans and procedures which include Radiological Health and Safety Programs, Industrial Safety Programs, applicable regulations and limits, radiation and contamination instrument detection principles and operation, Plant Controlled Access Areas, Security Procedures and Emergency Procedures.

7.Complies with station procedures and policy implementing the effective Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Regulatory Guides, National Standards and subsequent changes applicable to the work performed.

8.Participates in and successfully completes all aspects of any required training and requalification programs in part consisting of written and oral examinations, lectures, on-the-job training and self-study.

9.Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary.


MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

1.High school diploma.

2.Successful completion of high school level mathematics and physics or equivalent.

3.Satisfactory physical and mental condition as evidenced by successfully passing company-provided physicals.

4.Ability to satisfactorily complete Radiation Protection Technician Helper training as evidenced by successful completion of Radiation Protection Technician Helper selection examination.

5.Ability to make decisions requiring judgment, choice of action, etc., pertaining to Radiation Protection Technician Helper work.

6.Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
