Job description

Job Description This is a non-merit, temporary position. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise. Looking for contract or agency work closer to home.

The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for short-term CNAs to join our team working FULL TIME hours, on evening or night shift, for a minimum of 15 weeks or up to 780 hours. *Rate of pay is $28.11. Evening hours are 2 p.m

to 10:30 p.m. and night hours are 8:15 p.m. to 6:15 a.m

Will work every other weekend. This position is not eligible for benefits. The candidate may apply for a permanent position at the end of the 15 weeks if interested.

*Wage of $28.11 is based on employees working a minimum of 80 hours a pay period for 15 weeks. Employees working less hours will have an hourly wage of $19.43-$28.11. Must be a certified Nursing Assistant

Performs basic personal care of residents following a plan of care developed by the primary nurse to meet the resident care needs. Will complete documentation and sign off in resident charts and care plans. Certified Med Aides will pass medications as indicated on MAR.
