Job description

Job Title: Hotel General Manager

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Salary: $80,000 - $96,000 (DOE)

Benefits: Quarterly bonus potential of $5,000 (up to $20,000 annually), relocation assistance, and temporary housing for up to 30 days

What We're Looking For:

A well established hotel management group is seeking a proven Hotel General Manager to lead a recently renovated 62 room select service property in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The hotel runs approximately $1.5 million in annual revenue, is holding 68 percent occupancy year to date, and currently leads its competitive set. Amenities include an indoor pool, complimentary breakfast, and a fitness center.

This is a role for an experienced operator, not a first time General Manager. Ownership wants a top performer who can run the property with real independence: someone strong across P&L, sales, quality assurance, guest satisfaction, purchasing, and staffing, who moves things forward daily without needing to be followed up on. Candidates with a track record of brand or ownership awards are especially encouraged to apply. Relocation candidates are welcome and encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own total property performance, including revenue, expenses, and bottom line profitability
  • Build, review, and manage the annual budget and monthly P&L, and explain variances
  • Drive top line revenue through local sales efforts, account development, and rate strategy
  • Lead guest satisfaction and reputation management, responding to feedback and closing service gaps
  • Maintain brand quality assurance standards and prepare the property for inspections and audits
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain a full property team across front office, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Coach and develop department leads, and hold the team to consistent daily standards
  • Manage purchasing and vendor relationships to control cost without compromising the guest experience
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and capital projects to protect the recent renovation
  • Ensure compliance with all brand, safety, and employment requirements
  • Partner with regional leadership on strategy, forecasting, and reporting
  • Serve as the visible leader of the hotel in the local market and business community
