Position Summary

A confidential aerospace manufacturing client is seeking a Temporary Painter to support 2nd shift paint operations. This role will be assigned to the painting department and will help paint parts that need to move into assembly for further processing.

The Painter will perform spray painting in a booth after parts have been masked. The ideal candidate will have experience using paint spray guns, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace production environment. Candidates must also be comfortable completing a fit test to be cleared to wear a respirator.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare parts and products for processing through the paint booth.
• Support product preparation activities such as racking, sanding, and handling masked parts.
• Apply paint using spray guns in a paint booth environment.
• Use conventional paint spray equipment and HVLP equipment as required.
• Mix paint according to work instructions and production requirements.
• Set up and maintain conventional paint spray equipment.
• Apply common water-reducible and solvent-reducible corrosion-resistant epoxy primers.
• Use pressure-fed, siphon-fed, and gravity-fed spray equipment as required.
• Inspect painted parts for coverage, quality, and obvious defects.
• Help ensure parts are ready to move into assembly for further processing.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized paint work area.
• Follow all safety, PPE, respirator, quality, and production procedures.
• Report paint defects, equipment issues, material concerns, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform other paint, production, preparation, or manufacturing support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous spray painting experience required.
• Experience using paint spray guns required.
• Manufacturing painting experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a paint booth environment.
• Ability to prepare parts for paint, including racking and sanding.
• Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Ability to use conventional paint spray equipment.
• Ability to work with water-reducible and solvent-reducible primers or coatings preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work 2nd shift.
• Comfortable completing a respirator fit test.
• Comfortable wearing a respirator and required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace painting experience.
• Experience painting metal parts or production components.
• Experience applying epoxy primers or corrosion-resistant coatings.
• Experience with HVLP spray equipment.
• Experience with pressure-fed, siphon-fed, or gravity-fed spray equipment.
• Experience with paint mixing and spray equipment setup.
• Experience sanding, racking, masking, or preparing parts for paint.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive painting or preparation tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to use hands and arms to handle parts, spray guns, sanding tools, paint equipment, and production materials.
• Ability to work in a paint booth and manufacturing environment.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including respirator, safety glasses, gloves, and other protective equipment.
• Ability to pass respirator fit test requirements.
• Comfortable working around paints, primers, solvents, coatings, fumes, and production equipment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a dependable painter with hands-on spray gun experience and a strong understanding of paint preparation, paint application, and equipment setup. This person should be comfortable working in a paint booth, following instructions, wearing a respirator, and producing quality painted parts in a manufacturing environment.

The strongest candidates will have aerospace or manufacturing painting experience, HVLP experience, primer application experience, and strong attention to detail
