These engineers typically work on specific projects or to fill short-term staffing needs. They perform many of the same duties as regular software engineers, such as designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications. Temporary roles may offer valuable experience and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, but they usually have limited benefits and job security compared to permanent positions.
