Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for Bartenders. Founded in 1926, Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast’s most vibrant, exciting areas.

Responsibilities of the Bartender at Hope Valley Country Club include:

Bartending & Beverage Service

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages consistently and accurately according to club standards.

  • Maintain full knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktail preparation.

  • Ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with state and club policies.

  • Monitor bar stock and communicate product needs to management for timely ordering.

Food Service

  • Take and deliver food orders in a timely, professional manner.

  • Provide menu guidance and recommendations to members and guests.

  • Assist with running food, clearing tables, and maintaining a clean dining environment.

  • Support servers and fellow team members to ensure seamless service.

Member Engagement

  • Provide friendly, attentive, and personalized service to all members and guests.

  • Build positive relationships with the membership through consistent professionalism and hospitality.

  • Respond promptly to member needs, concerns, or special requests.

Operations & Cleanliness

  • Set up and break down the bar and dining areas for both morning and evening shifts.

  • Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout service.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

  • Handle cash, member charges, and POS transactions accurately.

Required Skills

  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (May vary by state)
  • Must have all certifications and licenses as required by local Health Department and Alcoholic Beverage Commission statutes
  • Ability to enforce company policies and laws and regulations regarding consumption of alcohol.
