- Follow detailed protocols for biochemical enzyme assays and use a plate reader.
- Extract DNA from soils, isolates, and plant tissues, and analyze metagenomic DNA.
- Work with and support undergraduate researchers and organize laboratory space.
- Record keeping, make observations, analyze data, and interpret experimental results.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative results.
- Clean and sterilize labware used for research.
- Maintain and grow bacterial cultures.
