Dr. Triebwasser works with Prof Joerg Lahann of the Biointerfaces Institute to develop novel non-viral gene delivery methods. The goal is to understand what drives effective gene delivery to specific cell types. As a pediatric hematologist, Dr. Triebwasser is focused on gene therapy for genetic blood disorders. This work involves characterizing the physical characteristics of nanocarriers and their effectiveness in blood forming cells.
Mission Statement: The lab is committed to a safe and inclusive work environment and focused on improving the field of gene therapy for blood disorders, such as sickle cell disease.
