Temporary Foundry Engineer information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Temporary Foundry Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Temporary Foundry Engineer, you need a solid background in metallurgy, materials science, and engineering principles, often supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with foundry equipment, CAD software, simulation tools, and safety protocols is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential soft skills in this role. These skills and qualifications are crucial for ensuring product quality, meeting production targets, and maintaining a safe work environment in a fast-paced foundry setting.

What are some common challenges faced by a Temporary Foundry Engineer, and how can they adapt to a new foundry environment quickly?

Temporary Foundry Engineers often face the challenge of rapidly acclimating to new processes, equipment, and safety protocols unique to each foundry. It’s important to proactively communicate with permanent staff, review existing documentation, and observe established workflows to minimize the learning curve. Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills are key, as project priorities may shift and unfamiliar alloys or casting methods may be used. Building rapport with operators and technicians can also help in quickly understanding the nuances of the specific foundry’s operations.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

Highly experienced engineers in specialized fields such as petroleum, aerospace, or certain senior roles in software engineering can earn $500,000 or more annually, often including bonuses and stock options. These positions typically require advanced skills, extensive experience, and often involve leadership or executive responsibilities.

How much does a foundry engineer make?

A foundry engineer's average salary varies by experience and location but typically ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 annually. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced engineers with specialized skills can earn over $100,000. Compensation often includes benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans, and the role may require knowledge of casting processes and safety protocols.

Permanent Foundry Engineers work full-time, providing stability and long-term career growth. Both roles require similar skills and certifications, but differ mainly in employment duration and job stability.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as petroleum, aerospace, or software engineering can earn $300,000 or more annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced skills, and leadership roles. High-paying engineering positions often require advanced degrees, professional certifications, and working in high-demand industries or executive-level positions.

What engineers make $200,000 a year?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as petroleum, aerospace, or software engineering often earn $200,000 or more annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced skills, and relevant certifications. These roles typically require advanced technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and sometimes work in high-cost-of-living areas or industries with high demand for expertise.

What are Temporary Foundry Engineers?

Temporary Foundry Engineers are professionals who are hired on a short-term or contract basis to work in foundries, which are facilities where metal castings are produced. Their primary responsibilities include overseeing the casting process, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, and troubleshooting production issues. They may also assist with process improvements and safety protocols within the foundry. These engineers typically work alongside permanent staff to ensure smooth operations during periods of high demand or when specialized expertise is required.

Job description

Senior Full Stack Data Engineer (Foundry + React)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Data Engineer to lead the development of a mission-critical compliance reporting platform. This is a unique "bridge" role where you will be responsible for the entire data lifecycle-from architecting backend datasets to building sophisticated, user-facing frontend components.
The ideal candidate thrives in environments where data integrity is paramount. You will build auditable, intuitive reporting experiences that translate complex data into actionable insights for compliance and audit stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
• Backend Engineering: Build and maintain robust datasets and complex transformations within a Palantir Foundry ecosystem.
• Frontend Development: Architect and develop responsive UI components using React and TypeScript to visualize compliance workflows.
• Systems Integration: Seamlessly integrate backend data structures with frontend views to ensure a high-performance, data-driven user experience.
• Audit & Compliance focus: Design UI/UX workflows specifically tailored for transparency, auditability, and regulatory rigor.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and data engineers to align technical outputs with strict compliance expectations.
Technical Requirements
The Essentials:
• Languages: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Frontend Mastery: Significant professional experience with React and TypeScript.
• Application Building: Proven track record of building end-to-end, data-driven applications.
• Seniority: Experience operating at a Level V (Senior/Staff) capacity, capable of making architectural decisions.
Highly Desired (The "Plus" Factors):
• Direct experience with Palantir Foundry.
• Familiarity with Foundry Workshop or Ontology-based UIs.
• Background in supporting audit-driven reporting or highly regulated industries (e.g., Utilities, Finance, or Infrastructure).
• Experience building internal platforms or specialized compliance tools. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans
