Job Description

Exploreand embraceyourrole:

AsanElectrical Engineer at Envista Forensics,you will play a crucial role in conducting forensic investigations related toelectricalincidents and failures. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts todetermineorigin androot causes of accidents,equipment malfunctions,product defects,and othermechanical failurerelated issues. Your findings will be essential in helpingourclients make informed decisions and resolving complex legal and insurance matters.

  • Investigateelectricalfailures, defects, ordamagein industrial, commercial, and residential settings.Determinecauses ofelectricalsystem failures and assessdesign/constructionquality or maintenance procedures.

  • Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi-party examinations.Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations;Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause ofdamagefor clients.

  • Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases totestify aboutdamages and professional liability.

Essentialexpertiseto ensure success:

  • Bachelor's degree inelectricalengineering or equivalent disciplinerequired.

  • 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering field

  • PE in state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months

  • Willingness to travel to clients'sites(25-30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmentalconditions.

Elevatedexpertisetoexcel/stand-out:

  • Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus.

  • 5years' experience evaluatingelectricalfailures in a commercialorindustrial settingpreferred.

  • Power systems experience (generators,transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; Electro-mechanical experience isdesirable.

  • Experienced working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters preferred.
