Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Aircraft Interior Engineer to join an elite Cabin Rebrand team. This group is tasked with transforming our fleet's cabin interiors to meet updated global brand standards. You will play a pivotal role in converting high-level design concepts into actionable Engineering Work Packages, ensuring that every seat, galley, and lavatory modification meets both aesthetic goals and rigorous airworthiness standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Engineering Design & Documentation:
• Work Package Development: Author and review comprehensive engineering documents, including Engineering Authorizations (EA/ER), Action Authorizations (AA), and specialized maintenance work cards.
• Modification Design: Lead the design and production of repairs, inspections, and alterations for cabin commodities (seating, lavatories, and monuments).
• CAD Integration: Utilize CAD tools to develop engineering drawings for cabin interior programs.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
• Airworthiness Substantiation: Ensure all engineering documents and physical modifications comply with FAA, DOT, ICAO, and OSHA regulations.
• Flammability & Standards: Apply knowledge of FARs regarding cabin materials, finishes, and flammability requirements to all design choices.
• Safety Leadership: Practice and promote safety-conscious behaviors in all operational and hangar-based environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Operational Liaison: Partner with Maintenance, Planning, and Materials teams to coordinate the seamless execution of interior modifications.
• Vendor Management: Interact with external suppliers and agencies to negotiate technical solutions that satisfy both design and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Qualifications:
• Education: A four-year accredited degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering is preferred. We will also consider candidates with equivalent professional experience in aviation engineering.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with STC and ODA certification processes, as well as Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and associated technical data.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience within a commercial airline, military aviation, OEM, or MRO environment is highly desired.
• System Proficiency: Familiarity with airline-specific maintenance systems (EAM, Engineering Document Systems, and Maintenance Tracking software) is a significant plus.
Professional Attributes:
• Communication: Ability to translate complex technical requirements for diverse audiences, from technicians to senior management.
• Problem Solving: Skilled at developing comprehensive action plans and handling sensitive project issues with discretion.
• Negotiation: Capable of finding common ground between engineering ideals and maintenance realities.
