Manager - Starbucks
Job no: 492740

Pay Range: Targeted Salary up to $22.00 hourly, based on experience
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Work Schedule: Varies based on business needs, but will require working home football game days. Position is essential and may be required to work during campus closures.
Travel: May be required
Position Introduction:
Oversees the overall operation, administration and performance of day-to-day operation of Starbucks. Responsible for staff, including hiring, firing, training, and conducting performance evaluations. Operations functions include some cash reporting, payroll and timekeeping. Responsible for adherence to franchise requirements. Will schedule employees, order food, supervise, enforce sanitation and departmental policies. Must be able to work with/supervise both full time and temporary employees. Provides information, clarifying policies and procedures, facilitating provisions of service and resolving problems. Events outside normal working hours will be mandatory as well.
  • As essential personnel you may be required to work during emergency University closings.
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays may apply.
  • Will be issued uniform, which must be worn correctly and maintained.
  • Cleveland County Food Handlers Card required within 30-days of hire and maintained every other year thereafter.
  • Hepatitis A vaccine required.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4 years of food service and restaurant supervision experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
  • A food handler card within 30 days of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within first 12 months of employment.

Department Preferences:
  • Bachelor's Degree and ACF or CIA certification in Culinary, Restaurant Management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in restaurant management/supervision, staff supervision, hospitality operations, meal production & support, or related area.
