Job description


About This Role

We're a nurturing, team-focused early learning center dedicated to helping children grow and thrive.

We're seeking a passionate and flexible Part-Time Floater / Teacher’s Aide to support our classrooms (infant through Pre-K) and assist teachers in creating a safe, engaging environment.

This is a part-time position requiring availability Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with hours based on center needs.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
  • Keep classrooms, storage units, dishes, and bathrooms clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Clean & disinfect classrooms, bathroom changing areas & other children’s areas on a daily basis.
  • Assist assigned teacher in any way possible, which may include, but is not necessarily limited to:
  • Straightening / cleaning rooms immediately following activities.
  • Plan curriculum in detail for assigned class
  • Implement the daily program for assigned classes
  • Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children’s artwork, and other hangings
  • Prepare snacks and sit with the children while they eat.
  • Keep classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly
  • May assume temporary responsibilities of the teacher in the absence of the teacher.
  • Be familiar with and follow all center policies.
  • Prepare rooms at nap time with cots and sleeping bags and remove items once nap is over.
  • Report to the Director/Assistant Director any special needs or problems of individual children.
  • Report to the Director/Assistant Director any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
  • Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with stated policy on discipline.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's day, fostering positive relationships.
  • Assist with the observation and documentation of children's progress and development.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities and other local in-service workshops
  • Adhere to all state licensing requirements and daycare center policies.
  • Perform other necessary duties at the discretion of the Director/Assistant Director

Requirements
  • Must clear full background check and must pass a health screening.
  • High School Diploma, GED.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Team player
  • Ability to work flexibly across different age groups and adapt to varying needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact positively with children, parents, and staff.
  • High energy.

Nice To Haves

Working with children in a daycare or educational setting is a plus.

Coursework in early childhood education or related field is preferred.
