Is being a FedEx contractor worth it?

Being a FedEx P&D contractor involves managing delivery routes and operating delivery vehicles, often with flexible schedules and independent contractor status. Compensation varies based on route efficiency and workload, but it typically requires physical stamina, good organizational skills, and adherence to safety standards. The role can be profitable for experienced contractors but may involve significant startup costs and variable income.

How much do FedEx contractors get paid per package?

FedEx P&D contractors are typically paid a flat rate per package or a daily rate based on delivery volume, with earnings often ranging from $0.50 to $2.00 per package. Compensation can vary depending on location, experience, and the specific contract terms, and contractors are usually responsible for their own expenses such as fuel and vehicle maintenance.

Does FedEx use private contractors?

These contractors are responsible for managing their own delivery vehicles and schedules, and they typically undergo background checks and vehicle inspections as part of the contracting process.

What is the 11 hour rule for FedEx?

For a Temporary FedEx P&D Contractor, the 11-hour rule refers to the maximum number of hours a driver can work in a day, including driving and delivery tasks, before mandatory rest is required. Federal regulations mandate that drivers must take a 10-hour rest period after working no more than 11 hours in a day to ensure safety and compliance. Adhering to this rule is essential for maintaining legal working hours and safe delivery operations.
