Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Holding Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Holding area. This role is focused on the care of post-operative patients who are fully recovered and awaiting disposition, either for discharge or admission to an inpatient bed. The ideal candidate should have a background in post-operative care and possess strong skills in cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to post-operative patients in the PACU Holding area.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias.
  • Administer medications and perform phlebotomy as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist in the management of oxygen delivery and non-invasive airway support.
  • Maintain proper isolation and safety protocols for patient care.
  • Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably with post-operative experience.
  • Current RN license in New York is required.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
  • Epic electronic health record experience is mandatory.
Schedule

This is a day shift position, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. There are no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.
