Description
Assist Fashion & Apparel Merchandising Faculty in The Fashion Shop and labs as well as with class preparation/supervision and social media.
Examples of Duties
Duties Include:
- Help manage The Fashion Shop including: design ideas, event planning and management, create items, visual merchandising, assist other students participation in Fashion Shop, and other tasks as needed.
- Organize, tidy, and maintain lab areas, closets and classrooms.
- Assist with student organizations- FBA and Fashion Council.
- Help plan and execute events including: Fashion Shop events, fashion shows, collaborations in community/ campus, etc.
- Run and maintain lab equipment including sewing machines, sergers, embroidery, vinyl cutters, heat presses, etc.
- Help students use equipment for projects and/ or Fashion Shop.
- Supervise open lab hours (after hours periodically).
- Assist professors with class preparation or supervision on occasion.
- Work with a team to create a social media plan, create content, and manage posts.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
- Fashion major with minimum of 30-60 hours completed towards degree
- Comfortable with software including Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Google Suite, video editing, etc.
- Basic knowledge of sewing and equipment (FAME 1450 completed)
- Available on campus most days during the week when school is in session
Supplemental Information
Working Hours:
- To be decided when student is hired.
- No more than 20 hours a week.
