Job description

Job Title: General Labor – Production Support - 1st Shift 7am-3:30pm M-F - $16/hr

Job Description

This role supports a busy production environment by loading materials, assisting with cutting and finishing processes, and preparing finished products for shipment. You will work closely with machine operators, handle matboard and paper stock, and help ensure that all items meet quality standards and ship on time.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload matboard, paper stock, and printed materials onto cutting and finishing equipment.
  • Assist machine operators with die cutting, bevel cutting, foil stamping, embossing, and related finishing processes.
  • Measure and stage materials according to job specifications and work orders to keep production running smoothly.
  • Stack, sort, and organize cut matboards, folders, and finished items for further processing or packaging.
  • Perform basic finishing tasks such as trimming, deburring edges, folding, gluing, labeling, and packaging.
  • Inspect finished products for quality, including verifying cut accuracy, alignment, and surface condition.
  • Count, wrap, and prepare orders for shipment, including tasks such as shrink wrapping and polybagging.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and assist with general housekeeping on the production floor.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around cutting equipment and automated machinery.
  • Collaborate with team members and operators to meet production goals and support efficient workflow.

Essential Skills

  • Previous general labor experience in a hands-on work setting.
  • Manufacturing or production experience working with materials, tools, or machinery.
  • Ability to safely handle and work around cutting and finishing equipment after training.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks such as loading, stacking, sorting, and packaging throughout the shift.
  • Attention to detail when measuring materials and inspecting finished products for quality.
  • Basic ability to use hand tools and power tools as required for trimming, deburring, and finishing tasks.
  • Reliability in following work orders, instructions, and established safety procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to work 1st shift with some overtime, including occasional early start times and Saturday work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move materials for the majority of the shift.
  • Willingness to learn multiple finishing processes such as die cutting, bevel cutting, foil stamping, and embossing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors; Spanish language skills are welcome.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to supporting team goals and production deadlines.

Work Environment

You work 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some overtime that may start at 5:00 a.m. and occasional Saturday overtime from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The work involves standing for extended periods, moving between workstations, and handling materials such as matboard, paper stock, and printed items. You regularly work around cutting and finishing equipment, including machines used for die cutting, bevel cutting, foil stamping, embossing, and related processes, as well as hand tools and power tools for trimming and finishing. The environment is active and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and maintaining organized work areas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
