Temporary Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Moss Point, MS
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
Assignment Length: Approximately 8-12 Weeks (Starting July 6)
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our client's team in Moss Point, MS. This temporary position will provide coverage during a maternity leave and is expected to last approximately 8-12 weeks. The selected candidate will start in early July to allow for hands-on training and a smooth transition before the leave begins.
This is a great opportunity for someone with warehouse, shipping, receiving, or order fulfillment experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy and organization.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect inbound shipments for accuracy, damages, and discrepancies
  • Verify packing slips and coordinate with vendors when documentation is missing
  • Organize incoming materials and ensure proper distribution within the warehouse
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders according to specifications
  • Process outbound shipments and verify correct destinations and shipping requirements
  • Use shipping software to create shipments and identify cost-effective shipping methods
  • Document freight damages and coordinate with vendors regarding credits and claims
  • Process product returns and maintain accurate records, including RMAs
  • Assist with inventory counts and ensure products are stored in correct locations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed

Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or order fulfillment experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with shipping software is a plus
  • Prior forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with team members across multiple departments

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
  • Ability to climb ladders and operate warehouse equipment safely
